This show has great energy right from the start! How spoiled are we these days with our loss-less digital audio anyway? The sound quality here is really not that bad. The recording gives a great aural perspective of the nights performance and I think any solid fan will appreciate listening here.

I agree with the previous reviewer that '72 gets special consideration historically, and this recording is more than listenable and is actually quite good. There is the ambient hall noise and it may be a little tinny, but everyone comes through clearly and the chatter from the stage is very audible, as well. The boys do rip here, with a "Mind Left Body" moment in "Good Lovin'" and an overall bouncy and upbeat show, the earliest '72 show in my collection. Listen for yourselves, but I think it's fantastic to find gems like this for free!

I don't understand why people complain about the sound on a 1972 AUD. People, this is not just about something to listen to on the way to work...these are historical documents. Nice work CM!

Absolutely horrible. Literally. Not worth listening to. You can't even make out some of the songs.

Why is this only available for streaming if it's an audience recording?

Set list is nice, but the sound quality is real bad. Don't download this one. Tossed the disks in the trash.

my first live Dead show. Great! Winterland, with stage set at the mid-court line provided a good, intimate view. And, it was for a great, cut-to-the-bone benefit, the Indian stand on Alcatraz!
